Amending Articles of Incorporation The Secretary of State of the state of incorporation normally requires a certificate of amendment to be filed for the amendment to become effective. The standard format for this certificate is shown in Form 1104. This form is to be filed with the Secretary of State in the state in which you have incorporated.
