Farrah Fawcett left the bulk of her £3.65million estate to her troubled son Redmond.
The Charlie’s Angels star, who died of cancer aged 62 on June 25, wrote her last will in 2007, shortly after she was told the disease had spread to her liver.
However, the actress chose to leave nothing to Redmond’s father, her long-time love Ryan O’Neal, with whom she had a 15-year relationship which ended in 1997.
The pair were reunited shortly after she was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.
She also left a bequest to her alma mater, Texas University.
In the will, which is due to be released in the next fortnight, Miss Fawcett asked that her son’s inheritance be placed in a trust fund controlled by two executors, who will give him a monthly allowance and money to buy his own home.
Redmond, 24, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction for most of his life, is currently in a Los Angeles prison for drugs offences.
Legacy: With troubled son Redmond
A source said: ‘Farrah appointed two trustees to make sure the money supports her son’s journey into sobriety rather than giving him the means to destroy himself. Redmond’s inheritance will be tightly controlled.’
Mr O’Neal, 68, has also vowed to help their son overcome his demons.
In an interview last week, he said: ‘I loved her so very, very much. Redmond is in the fight of his life but is doing well. I will do everything that is in my power to honour
her memory and to protect our son.’
